DHC : DHC Eyelash Tonic

I bought the DHC Eyelash Tonic while I visited a DHC store in Shibuya, Tokyo. The DHC store was having an attractive promo of 950 yen (~sgd$15.00) per unit and I bought 2 units for trial. I was lazy to read up on the logic behind using this eyelash tonic till yesterday.

I will only be posting my reviews after a week of usage.

More about DHC Eyelash Tonic
Stronger lashes in a blink. This conditioning gel nourishes lashes prone to breakage and encourages a more robust lash line. Aloe, watercress, and comfrey seal in moisture for greater elasticity. The curved applicator brush helps you distribute the gel evenly from lash root to tip. Use it under mascara during the day and as a bedtime treatment.

Use as a mascara base in the morning and as a conditioner in the evening. Gently and evenly, brush a small amount of tonic onto lash roots and sweep outward towards tips.

FANCL : Fancl Lip Treatment

I have never used Fancl products, and was very tempted to switch to Fancl due to the fact, its preservative-free. I almost missed this "must-buy" product and only got to see it on my last day in Ueno, Tokyo. I wasn't sure what are the raved products of Fancl, and bought only those that I needed. ***ALERT : More Fancl Loots to be posted***

I was contemplating between Fancl's Lip Treatment versus Lip Cream. However, the Fancl CS highly recommended this over the Fancl Lip Cream. Not exactly sure why, as we have difficulty communicating due to language barrier.

After googling on the difference between both product, I was kinda regretful not buying it's Lip Cream too.

SHISEIDO : Integrate Mineral Foundation SPF 16 PA+

Shiseido Integrated Mineral Foundation SPF 16 PA+

I had seen the Shiseido Integrated Mineral Foundation in the day before, in Odaiba, Tokyo. But I did not purchase as it was selling at 1365 yen for the refill alone (w/o case) and I find the price rather steep to buy and trial.

I am glad I backed out, as I managed to spot it selling at 1365 yen per set instead in Akihabara, Tokyo, on my last day of holiday. I grabbed 2 sets without realising what is "Mineral Foundation". A search in google.com, lead me to a local blogger, Haru's post dated 25 December 2009. As mentioned by Haru, this is Shiseido's first line of mineral foundations and was released on 21 February in Japan.

I also extracted more info about mineral foundation from geekwise and essortment.com and hopes that as mentioned, this mineral foundation will work well on my sensitive skin.

From WiseGeek;
Mineral foundation makeup refers to foundations or base makeups that are usually powder and that are made up of ingredients that are mostly minerals and perhaps cornstarch. There are now many of these foundations on the market. The initial goal when mineral foundation makeup first appeared in the 1970s was to eliminate some of the extra ingredients irritate skin like dyes, binding ingredients, and fragrances. Most mineral makeups fair very poorly and provide only an SPF of 15. Doctors say this isn’t a reason not to use mineral foundation makeup, but advise that patients use a stronger sunscreen underneath the base.

From essortment.com
Sensitive and acne-prone skin can benefit from using mineral foundation powder. There is an extremely low allergy risk and is excellent for all types of problem skin. These powders aid in oil absorption and keep a matte fresh finish throughout the day and into the night. They contain no skin irritating materials. They are also comedogenic, which means they will not block or clog pores. Mineral foundation powder is free of oils, waxes, silicone and is anti-inflammatory. They can assist in soothing and medicating irritated skin. The ingredients consist of inert and natural minerals that can not support bacteria and are preservative free. There is virtually no risk for people with skin allergies or skin sensitivity.

LUSH : Honey I Washed the Kids Soap

I bought my very 1st piece of Lush Soap - Honey I Washed the Kids (irrcc) from Lush store in Shibuya, Tokyo. I have always read about Lush products, but have yet to have a chance to indulge in it. The store was filled with lovely scents which were so soothing yet tempting for me to grab everything.

I was rather stingy and only bought a miserable piece of Lush soap.

AGNES B : Agnes B Voyage Collection - Japan Edition

I had Burberry Blue Label (BBL) listed in my shopping list, when I visited Tokyo last month. However, the ones I shortlisted was OOS in Ginza, Tokyo. The store was infested with tourists when I went in. Omg! The stocks were almost "cleanly" wiped out by the mainland tourists!

The next day, while I was in Harajuku - Omotesando, while looking out for KiddyLand, I passed by an Agnes B boutique and went in for a quick glance.

Haha! I caught sight of a Agnes B Voyage bag, and feel in love with it immediately! My very first Agnes B Voyage bag from Tokyo, Japan.

Do you see 3 Agnes B Voyage paperbags?
Yes, you guessed correctly! I ended up buying 3 Agnes B bags.

2 of the bags will be given as gift to my dearest mummy and sister

Sorry! I wont be uploading and sharing my Agnes B Voyage loots. The only "special" detail about the bags I have choosen is : they are Japan Edition - Agnes B Voyage bags.

Do keep a look out for them when you visited Japan's Agnes B store. The designs are trendy, practical and also reasonably priced.

KOSE : Kose Softymo Cleansing Oil

I spent the whole afternoon packing my room. I am trying my very best to squeeze every items that I have bought on impluse into my cupboards.

I decided to have upload these Softymo cleansing oil that I bought in my recent Tokyo trip last month. This was purchased in a local drug store in Ikebukuro. Its interesting to find cute and colorful packaging of products in Japan. Pardon me for my ignorance, I have never seen these before, and bought them becos its packaging tempts me to buy.

I can't recall it actual $$$, but it should be ~ 800yen for for 2 packs, which is considered very affordable. The store offers 3 type of variety, but I picked the "Deep-Cleansing" and the "Speedy Cleansing". I cant read Japanese wording, but I would assume all cleansing oil to be used the same way, this round.

TRAVEL : Tokyo Spring F&E 10D9N

It has been almost 2 weeks since I have returned from my holiday in Tokyo, Japan. The 10 days in Tokyo was an eye-opening trip for me. I had such a wonderful and memorable time there. Despite the fact that I am back in Singapore, my heart and soul never left Japan. Oh gosh!

I have been tied up with my work and that has caused my "slowness" in updating my travel blog. Do bear with me, while I will try to buck up and update my travel experiences.

The tags for it is here.

Spring in Tokyo, Japan - Day 2

We begin our day early today. Our hotel rate includes breakfast and here's our simple yet filling meal.
Though the subway is only a short 1 min walk from hotel, it took us almost 15mins to reach. We were kinda lost in orientation.
Our Metro Pass only allows us to board Metro Lines, yet we were so blur to walk to another private line subway station. We tap our PASS withour realising that it was the wrong line. Only when the system show a "Pass Expired", then we realised we are at the wrong subway line. Blur us!

With such an extensive coverage of train stations and lines, it is really difficult to remember them without referring to the train maps.

We were pretty early when we reached ASAKUSA and managed to take a few peaceful shots of this place. The shopping streets does not operate so early, so we went sightseeing first. For you info, the temple opens as early as 5.00 am.

I subconscienciously opened the drawers only to realise that in it are where all the lot interpretations are. After you have your lot number, you will have to pay a some donation and pick your lot interpretations here.

Along the Nakamise Street, we get to buy lots of tourist-packed foods and snacks and also souvenirs. There were lots of variety of souvenirs ranging from keychains to food to displays etc. I spent almost 1.5 hours in this 400m street.

More uploading coming up

Spring in Tokyo, Japan - Day 1

Finally, the day has come for our holiday to Tokyo, Japan. Not exactly sure can we survive our next 10days in Tokyo, with no knowledge of speaking Jap, as this is our very 1st visit to Tokyo. It took us almost a month to finalise our itinerary. There is so much places to cover in such limited times. In this 10days, we will be having 3 day trips excluding DisneySea and Odaiba.
We were informed by friends that Delta's has very strict security checks. And as a result, their check-in time is 3hrs before departure time. Dear and me decided to meet early for check-in and breakfast in Changi Airport.
We were rather surprised that Delta Airline does offer inflight entertainment. Tat becos, during online booking, it states that there is NO inflight entertainment. Anyway, I slept thru out the flight as I wish to be fully charged for my next 10days. Below are the 2 types of breakfast meal offered.
Finally, as many hours in plane, we were greeted with a cheerful and cooling weather in Tokyo, Narita Airport. Little did we expect that we would need to transfer to a bus ride to Narita Airport.
Yipee!!! Our flight arrived 30mins earlier, meaning we were able to "catch" an earlier train timing to our hotel. We fasten our pace in hoping that we can skip the crowd and clear the customs.
We also took some time to the tourist booth for some updated Tokyo guides before rushing over to Keisei Skyliner for our reserved ticket to Ueno Station.
This is the Keisei Ueno Station, which is only barely 10mins walk from our hotel and JR Ueno station. Luckily dear had taken notice of fine details by choosing a hotel near to train stations. I really have to thank him for this.
We were greeted with CHERRY BLOSSOM when we passed Ueno Park. We cant help but to take a few snaps with it before continuing our route to hotel. In fact it took us quite some time to reach our hotel, as everything on street is candy to our eyes.
Right after check-in, we visited Ameyoko and randomly picked a store for our dinner. Though it costed ~sgd$20.00 for a meal for 2, this is gonna be the "cheapest" meal we ever had throughout our trip. The presentation of the dish is appettising to anyone who sees it. Agree?
When we purchased our Skyliner Train ticket, we also top-up for a 2 day Metro Open Pass, which we intended to use them for our train route for today and tomorrow's itinerary.
Our 1st destination on the list is TOKYO TOWER. I am so glad I brought along my winter jacket (which I bought from Korea in my previous holiday), which managed to help me "survive" my next few days in Tokyo. Its freezing and so windy that it sent shivers down my spine. This jacket never left my sight whenever I am out of hotel.

We made use of our Metro Pass for our trip to Tokyo Tower. In dear's opinion, do visit Tokyo Tower at night for stunning night shots. He regretted not bringing his tripod along as it was so cold that he had difficulty take a good night shot of TOKYO TOWER.

Japan is so tourist-friendly that she never fails to provide sufficient signage for tourists. Who says you need to speak or understand Japanese to go F&E?
Since the night is still early, we stopped by Roppongi for some night shots too. Its a pity it was drizzling when we reached. With the rain and wind, we could only stroll around.
As our body are still adapting to this freezing weather, we decided to get back hotel and rest early for our "hectic" schedule tomorrow.
